Mapping and Assessment of Institutional Practices

🗺️
WP2 provides the evidence base for the whole LITE project. Its purpose is to produce the first comparative European mapping of how universities use leadershipCentres for Teaching and Learning (CTLs), and wider institutional strategies to stimulate and reward teaching excellence. The work combines desk research, a pan-European survey, and further stakeholder input to capture current practices, challenges, and needs across different types of institutions, from research-intensive universities to smaller and less-resourced settings. In doing so, WP2 looks in particular at how leadership and CTLs work together, where gaps remain, and which approaches appear most transferable across the European Higher Education Area.

WP2 will produce four main results: a LITE Research Methodology Document, a LITE Survey and Research Instruments package, a LITE Comprehensive Mapping Report, and a LITE Best Practice Report. Together, these outputs will create a practical European reference point for understanding how teaching excellence can be embedded more effectively through leadership, institutional support structures, and targeted reform. They will also feed directly into the project’s later work on training, mentoring, quality assurance, and dissemination.
