Charles University is the oldest university in the Czech Republic and a leading public research institution with a broad academic spectrum, encompassing 17 faculties and a wide range of disciplines. It plays a central role in higher education, research and knowledge transfer in the Czech Republic. The university emphasises research-based education, international cooperation with European and global partners, and engagement with societal and public policy challenges in both the Czech and wider European contexts.

Members of the project team are affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Law, the First Faculty of Medicine and the Paedagogium platform of Charles University.

The University of Bologna was founded in 1088. It is one of the most renowned and prestigious universities across Europe and the most populated university community in Italy, with 86,000 enrolled students, 2,800 teaching professors and 3,000 technical and administrative staff. It is a comprehensive higher education institution with 32 departments and 219 degree programmes, and also offers 45 PhD programmes, 52 specialisation schools and 74 professional courses, 16 of which are international. Strongly rooted in its territory, it is the most internationalised of all Italian universities.

Members of the project team are affiliated with the Department of Political and Social Sciences.

The University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479 and encompasses six faculties, 36 departments and more than 200 research centres. It has 37,000 students and 10,000 employees and is highly ranked on the leading ranking lists of the world's best universities. Through research-based teaching, students are equipped to address society's challenges and needs. The university focuses on interdisciplinary initiatives to support students and academic communities, as well as on sustainability, gender equality and diversity.

Members of the project team are affiliated with TEACH, the Centre for Teaching and Learning serving the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Law.

The Guild supports policy engagement and institutional outreach. Through its Strategic Leads on Education Working Group it connects 22 universities, shaping transnational collaboration and reform. The Guild ensures that the project's outputs inform policy discussions on teaching excellence, and provides external validation of the mapping and best practice reports.

A member of EUTOPIA, the University of Warwick brings a UK perspective on teaching excellence. Warwick supports the mentoring scheme and the toolkit, drawing on its expertise in transnational higher education collaboration. It strengthens policy engagement, ensuring the project's findings contribute to UK and European education reform.
